Salon policy — version 1.0

Version 1.0 — effective 12 September 2026, 00:00 BST. These terms apply to new bookings where provided and accepted before booking. Existing appointments keep the terms originally agreed.

Cancellation, rescheduling and no-shows

Long colour appointments are colour visits with a total reserved duration of three hours or more. This includes associated processing time, toner, cut and finish. Overlapping service durations are counted only once. All other appointments use the other appointment category below.

Long colour appointments reserve a substantial part of a stylist’s day. We need time to find a replacement client and, where required, complete allergy testing at least 48 hours before their colour service.

The percentages apply to the agreed appointment price. They are maximum total charges, not automatic deductions. Free consultations have no deposit or percentage cancellation charge.

How we calculate a fair charge

We charge the lower of the applicable maximum and the service provider’s reasonable net loss caused by the cancellation. We take reasonable steps to refill the appointment. We deduct saved costs and replacement income that reduces the loss.

Deposits count towards that total. They are never added on top. Any excess is refunded. We can explain how a charge was calculated.

Removing part of a booking can attract a charge only for the part removed. Rescheduling counts as cancelling the original slot. We do not charge twice for the same work.

We consider emergencies and circumstances outside your control fairly. Reasonable adjustments and your statutory rights remain protected.

If we cancel, you can choose a suitable replacement appointment or a refund for the service we cannot provide.

A safety concern identified after you followed our testing instructions does not automatically attract a cancellation charge.

How to cancel and check your deadline

Cancel through your booking link, email hello@fergaldoylehair.com or call 0117 244 3165.

Outside opening hours, please email. The time your email reaches our inbox counts. You do not need to wait for staff acknowledgement.

Seven days means 168 actual hours. Deadlines are measured back from the appointment start. Your booking confirmation should give the precise deadline in UK local time, including the time zone, allowing for daylight-saving changes. These are not working days. Ask us before confirming if the category or deadline is unclear.

The seven-day rule must be clearly brought to your attention and accepted before a long colour booking is made. A reminder or later website visit does not introduce it retrospectively.

Example: a £270 long colour appointment

This is an illustration, not the price of every appointment. At least 168 hours’ notice means £0. Less than 168 hours but at least 48 hours means a maximum of £67.50. Less than 48 hours, before the start, means a maximum of £135. No attendance and no cancellation before the start means a maximum of £202.50.

If you paid a £135 deposit, it counts towards these totals. At the 25% tier, at least £67.50 is refunded. The maximum additional no-show payment is £67.50. All these charges reduce where reasonable net loss is lower.

Deposits and payment

New clients pay a 50% deposit for paid services. This is an advance payment towards your appointment and comes off the service price. Free consultations have no deposit or percentage cancellation charge.

A cancellation within the relevant free-cancellation period receives a refund, unless you choose to transfer the payment. If a permitted cancellation charge is less than your deposit, we refund the excess. We do not impose credit instead of a refund you are entitled to receive.

We explain the agreed appointment price and payment arrangements before you confirm. A deposit is not an automatically non-refundable booking fee.

These website terms do not, by themselves, authorise a charge to a saved card. Any saved-card authority must be explained and separately agreed through the payment or booking process, including when and how much may be charged.

Running late

Please contact us as soon as possible. A late arrival is not automatically a no-show. We will discuss what can safely be completed in the time available.

Any charge for the lost portion is capped at 50% of that portion’s agreed price and at reasonable net loss. We deduct saved costs and replacement income that reduces the loss, and apply any deposit towards the total. We do not charge twice for the same work. We consider emergencies, circumstances outside your control and reasonable adjustments fairly.

Prices and your appointment

Our published prices are a guide. Your stylist, hair and the work required affect your quote. We confirm the complete appointment price before booking and agree any changes before carrying out additional work.

Colour prices exclude toner, treatments and finishing unless your agreed package expressly includes them. Extension application prices exclude the hair unless expressly included in your quote.

The New Client Experience is £60 with every stylist. Its stated inclusions and any separate promotional conditions are explained before purchase. Availability varies.

Allergy testing and safe services

Follow our salon and product-specific testing instructions. Where allergy testing is required, complete it at least 48 hours before your colour service, or earlier if instructed. A previous test does not guarantee that a reaction cannot occur.

Tell us about previous reactions, relevant treatments and anything that may affect the safety of your service. Contact us if something changes after testing. We may need to adapt or postpone a service for safety. We will discuss the options and any proposed charge fairly under the cancellation safeguards above.

Service quality, corrections and refunds

We aim to provide services with reasonable care and skill. If something is wrong, contact us as soon as you reasonably can so we can assess it and discuss a suitable remedy. There is no 48-hour complaint cutoff that removes your legal rights.

Where the law provides for repeat performance or a price reduction, including a refund where appropriate, those rights apply. A completed service is not automatically excluded from a refund. We will explain any proposed correction and arrange it within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience where required by law.

For products, your statutory rights for faulty or misdescribed goods remain. A manufacturer’s warranty is additional to those rights, not a replacement.

Online and telephone purchases

Where statutory distance-contract cancellation rights apply, they remain available. Booking an appointment does not automatically waive a cooling-off right.

If you ask for a service to start within an applicable cancellation period, we must explain the consequences and obtain the express request required by law. Any lawful payment for work already supplied must reflect the applicable rules. Loss of a cancellation right after full performance requires the consent and acknowledgement required by law. These terms do not override those requirements.

Gift vouchers and packages

Gift vouchers are normally valid for 12 months from purchase. The expiry date and any specific restrictions must be clear before purchase. Please contact us if you need help using a voucher.

Vouchers are not normally exchangeable for cash, except where a refund is legally due. Any transfer restrictions and package conditions must be explained before purchase. They do not remove statutory cancellation, refund or service-quality rights. Booking one part of a package does not automatically make the entire purchase non-refundable.

Children, access and belongings

Our salon services are for clients aged 16 and over. Please arrange childcare before your appointment. Contact us beforehand about access requirements, a support person or other reasonable adjustments so we can discuss a suitable arrangement.

Please take care of your belongings. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Personal data and photographs

We use personal data to manage appointments, provide services and handle enquiries. See our Website privacy page for details about website and online consultation data, retention and your rights. Booking and payment providers also explain how they handle data through their own notices.

Marketing choices are separate from accepting booking terms. We ask permission before using identifiable client photos or videos for publicity. You can withdraw consent for future use by contacting us.

Which version applies?

The terms accepted when your booking was made apply to that booking. Later website changes do not alter an existing booking unless we agree the change with you.

We retain a version register and a version-specific copy of each published policy. Version 1.0 takes effect from 12 September 2026 at 00:00 BST. Existing appointments remain subject to the terms agreed when booked, unless a change is expressly agreed.
